after I saw a man
turn one rose bush
into a plant that could carry
white and red flowers
if the yesterday today and tomorrow
with the same amount of pain
had to become perfect
does all perfect matches
involve having half of your soul cut away
and blended with half another soul
to sometimes die
or sometimes become one
in a unique and wondrous union
of two blended in pain
with loving hands
into one
