The house of Murnau

1 The house of Murnau on Fri Nov 18, 2011 8:48 am

The
noble House of Murnau has its origins in Bavaria, where the Castle
Murnau is lorded over by the eldest member of the House to whom all
others defer. One of the two lay orders within the Shadow Inquisition,
its is by far the wealthiest faction. Although odd by many standards,
the loyalty and usefulness to the Cause allows these oddities to be
overlooked.
Legacies are the beneficial form that the House's
greatest curse, the Maledictio, take when turned to the service of God.
According to family lore, a creature of the night once cursed the House,
which inevitably took terrible forms: unluckiness, the unfavorable
attention of the Enemy and so on. But the curse also had the beneficial
side effect of protecting the family, or at the very least allowing them
to "sniff out" -- sometimes literally -- the minions of the Adversary.
